It's been said that great leadership is action, not position. Every individual on the M-D Building Products management team exudes open mindedness, integrity, and approachability as guiding principles. They are leaders because they are doers; invested in the success of the company as a whole, more than an individual department.
M-D Building Products consists of an experienced team of industry leaders who understand the market place, customers, and consumers. Their collective expertise and shared values have helped make M-D one of the strongest manufacturing companies in North America.
President and Chief Executive Officer
Loren began his career with M-D Building Products as a territory sales manager in 1983. M-D and the building industry in general have been a natural fit for him, having spent his weekends throughout high school working at his father’s lumber and hardware business in Miami, Florida.
Throughout his time at M-D, Loren has served in a variety of roles, including V.P. of Marketing and V.P. of Sales. He was also instrumental in leading two of the company’s most significant acquisitions: Lighthouse Products in 1995, where he remained as president for four years; and Loxcreen in 2012, a move that led to doubling overall company revenue and diversifying the customers and channels served.
Loren has served as president of M-D since leaving his role as president of Lighthouse Products and returning to Oklahoma City in 1999.
Chief Operating Officer
Ryan more or less grew up around the M-D family – visiting his father, Loren, in the office as a child, and then serving as an intern in several different departments during his summers throughout high school and college. After completing his bachelor’s degree in physics and history at the University of Miami, he joined W.R. Grace's sales development program.
His time with W.R. Grace led him back to M-D, where he assumed a global business manager role. As his commitment to M-D grew, so did his role within the company and his involvement in operations. He served as Senior Vice President of Operations until relocating to St. Louis in 2014 to pursue his master’s in business administration at Washington University. Ryan returned to Oklahoma City from St. Louis in mid-2016 and assumed his current role, where he works across multiple corporate and business unit functions.
Senior Executive Vice President
Larry joined the M-D family in 1988, when the company acquired his specialty coating manufacturing business, National Coating.
Since that time, his passion for customer service and contributions to the development of innovative products and services have led him to management roles in many different business units – most recently in the MetalSource division, and IT and Global Sourcing groups.
Larry is an exemplary leader who embodies M-D’s core values of integrity and trust. He has led the way in building a culture of positive employee and customer engagement, and maintaining excellence in manufacturing and supply chain
Executive Vice President
Kipp’s path to M-D Building Products began at QEP in 1995, where he served as a sales representative in the New York metro for two years before being promoted and relocating to Houston, TX. For the next eight years, he grew with the company, serving first as Vice President of Sales over the Midwest division and ultimately as Senior Vice President of Sales on a national level.
Kipp left Houston in 2005 to begin his career at M-D Building Products in Oklahoma City, where he was hired to develop, source and market a full line of ceramic and carpet installation tools. Within a year, he was promoted to Vice President of Marketing – a role he held until 2008, when he returned to Texas to serve as Vice President of Sales. In 2011, he heeded the call to return to Oklahoma as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing, and in 2014 was promoted to his current position with the company.
