How to Select a Threshold

Thresholds block out air, moisture, dust and insects while beautifying your home.

  1. Measure the length and height of your existing threshold. Or measure the width of the door opening and the distance from the bottom of the door to the floor.
  2. Choose the style of threshold you need:
    • Aluminum & Vinyl - The most common threshold. Combines quality good looks and ease of installation.
    • Adjustable - Our best sealing threshold. Height is fully adjustable. Works great even if floor or door is not straight.
    • Frost Break - Beautiful solid oak prevents frost buildup on the inside threshold surface. Durable aluminum on the outside.
    • Oak - Solid red oak adds a beautiful accent to your entry way. Stain or paint to match door trim or floor.
    • Saddle - All aluminum, extremely durable, must be installed with a door bottom.
    • Bumper - Most often used on out-swinging doors.
    • Commercial - Heavy duty thresholds built for durability. Low height meets ADA accessible entry requirements.
